Just a little warmup hike
With some folks whom I like --
A dozen friends with smiles,
Four short and easy miles,
Which some would rather bike.
'Twas forest all around,
Yet all within our town.
I must say that switchbacks
Our trail did not lack
As we hiked up and down.
