Medicine is a science that's not exact,
And that applies to cataracts.
Alpha-crystallin is our protector.
For it there is a nascent detector --
A predictor the docs have lacked.
You get some when you are born.
Do to age and materials foreign,
It tends to get diminished.
It never gets replenished.
It may be gone when you're old and worn.
My knowledge is but a smattering.
It's based on light beam scattering.
This laser machine will be treasured.
With it the protein can be measured.
To NASA this is flattering.
