As if we needed reminding,
It's a scientific finding:
Happiness is contagious.
But this part is outrageous:
It's not completely binding.
For there is this little quirk:
It doesn't apply at work.
To explain this, I'm at a loss
Unless you have a boss
Who's an extraordinary jerk.
Happy friends may help you amass it,
But strangers can receive or pass it.
It's not just what you think or do;
Strangers determine your happiness too.
Of the finding, this is a facet.
