I wouldn't smoke a cigarette.
It has no benefit.
I think that jokers
Who are smokers
Ought to quit.
Their smoke we ought not face
In a public space.
When we go there,
There should be no smoke there,
Not even a trace.
But a bar is a different case.
Some folks like smoke in their face,
And government should let it ride,
Let the market place decide
In such a private place.
If we choose to ruin our health,
We shouldn't have to do it in stealth.
A government that lets us our way jive
In our own private lives
Is a precious wealth.
(Gov. Timothy M. Kaine is proposing a ban on smoking in all Virginia restaurants and bars.)
